Bio-organic cotton
Bio-organic cotton is a breathable and soft natural fibre,
making it an exceptional partner for linen fibre.
Environment
Cotton is a natural fibre that consists almost entirely of cellulose. We mainly use bio-organic cotton that is certified and which is mainly spun in Europe according to OEKO-TEX standard.
Bio-organic cotton is cultivated in a controlled manner, so the entire textile chain from cultivation to sale is transparent. The IMO certificate guarantees a responsible production chain. We dye all of our cotton yarns in Europe, with a significant part being dyed in Lappajärvi, Finland, near our own weaving mill. It is our responsibility to operate transparently and set an example for responsible textile manufacturing.
Our goal is to switch completely to certified bio-organic cotton by 2026. At the same time, we have reduced the use of cotton altogether, replacing it with Tencel, which has less impact on the environment, because cotton production requires a lot of water and land.

Qualities
Cotton feels pleasant on the skin, as the fibre is flexible, soft, breathable and light. Cotton fibre is strong, and its strength increases by up to 10–20 % when wet. It also absorbs moisture well, making it a popular towel material. Cotton is also easy to wash.
Care instructions
Wash separately at 60°C in plenty of water. 40°C is also an adequate wash temperature. Avoid softener and bleach. Normal spin cycle. Iron the textile with cotton settings.

Perhaps they would whisper about the secret gatherings of the golden cloudberries, hiding where only the worthy may find them. Maybe they would sigh about the gentle caress of a twig of a shrub on your ankle, as a tuffet of moss gives way.…
“It’s wonderful that they still weave their products in Finland. Working with Lapuan Kankurit ensures that each step of the process works, from choosing the right materials to packaging and presenting the finished product.”
