The VERANTA bag is a relaxed, versatile everyday bag woven from washed cotton, with plenty of room for all your daily essentials. Lightweight and generously sized, it’s perfect for weekend trips and beach holidays. Thanks to its wide shoulder straps, the bag also works beautifully as a shopping tote. The sturdy straps are woven from linen with our own ribbon weavinc machines in Lapua, ensuring durability and a comfortable feel in use. Please note that there are tie ribbons inside the bag, allowing you to close the opening when needed.
The distinctive VERANTA pattern was designed by illustrator Matti Pikkujämsä. “The VERANTA pattern originated from the idea of an old house’s veranda and grandma’s home. Aged ceramic vases filled with hand-picked flowers, doilies and double cloths. I found inspiration in the graphic style of the 40’s and 50’s, with some ethnic influences in the mix. VERANTA was conceived with liquid paint markers on paper. The key visual starting point was to marry together different surfaces and patterns to make a flowing, harmonious composition.”
Traceable natural materials
The warp and weft yarn we use are made of certified 100 % organic cotton. The yarns have been spun and dyed in the EU area according to the REACH regulations, and they meet the requirements of the OEKO-TEX certificate. The majority of the cotton we use is certified organic.
Own transparent production
We want to be responsible for the production of our products ourselves, starting from the yarn all the way to the finished product. This is why the most significant part of the production is done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland.
The product design, material purchases, loom programming and warping as well as the pre-work stages, weaving and fabric inspection are done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland. The sewing is done in our subsidiary’s own sewing department in Kaunas, Lithuania, or in our own sewing department in Lapua. The product finishing is done in our finishing plant in Lapua, Finland.
Care instructions
Wash separately at 60°C in plenty of water. 40°C is also an adequate wash temperature. Avoid softener and bleach. Normal spin cycle. Iron the textile with cotton settings.
