New in - Born Original

The first of our weavers were innovative. They took their vast knowledge of jacquard weaving and built a thriving company around it. A company built not just with bricks and mortar, but with values equally embedded into its foundation, as well.

Every generation of Lapuan Kankurit has been united in their deep appreciation for the same values: nature, people and the craft itself. Yet each has also followed their own path, figuring out what being original means for them. New innovations and steps forward have been balanced by that history of know-how and tradition. For our weaving family, there is no taking the easy way out – not in materials, not in designs, not in how we treat our surroundings and those who surround us. Since the beginning, we have taken pride in being both kind and one of a kind.

What, then, keeps us original? Maybe it’s that we never settle. There’s always bigger dreams to dream, more to discover, more ways to do things better than ever. To us, being original is about staying true to our roots while reaching for the skies. Our origins guide us, but they do not limit us. On these pages you’ll get to know both our new designers and new designs, each a new step forward on our own unique path.

The goal of this autumn’s collection was to honour originality. While our aim is to always innovate and improve, at its heart each product is the same Lapuan Kankurit quality you know and love, artfully woven from pure natural materials, right here in our own weaving mill in Finland.
