Lissu was a cornerstone of the weaving mill for 40 years. She began her career in 1971 by looking after a three-year-old blonde-haired boy. That boy is now Esko Hjelt, the CEO of Lapuan Kankurit. Her work continued at the weaving mill, and from then on, no one wanted to let go of Lissu. To be precise, not for forty years.

“As a nanny, I sometimes took Esko to my home farm to experience rural life, haymaking, and such. Even pressing the bus stop button was a completely new and strange thing for him. We got along well, except for one time when I got a bit annoyed—he managed to soak three pairs of rubber boots in a single day. “
“One day, Esko’s big sister revealed that their parents were planning to start their own factory! I thought to myself, surely I could do something there too—and that’s where I stayed.”
