Muoto Award – KASTE bath textiles

The MUOTO 2012 competition culminated in a spectacular Muoto Gala at Finlandia Hall on September 5th.2012. Jaana and Esko Hjelt from Lapuan Kankurit, along with designer Anu Leinonen, attended the event to receive their award. Leinonen’s KASTE and LÄHDE bath textile collection, made from washed linen, won the public’s favorite award in the textile category.

This was the second time the MUOTO Award was presented, and Lapuan Kankurit also won the public award last year with the reintroduction of Dora Jung’s textile designs.Lapuan Kankurit is a Finnish weaving company known for its innovative and strategic collaborations with top designers. The award-winning washed linen collection is the result of years of development, combining comfort, advanced technical expertise, and high-end design.

Lapuan Kankurit CEO Esko Hjelt thanked both the professional jury and the public for their enthusiastic support. “It is fantastic that consumers have chosen our products as the best for two consecutive years. The KASTE and LÄHDE collections are made from 100% washed linen and are manufactured in Lapua, Finland. Anu Leinonen, who has had a long career in both France and Finland, has been collaborating with Lapuan Kankurit since 2009.

Muoto 2012 Jury: Chairman Pauli Aalto-Setälä, along with Mikko Kalhama, Kimmo Knaapila, Hannu Kähönen, Viivi Lehto, Anna-Liisa Hämäläinen, Harri Kalliomäki, Pirjo Kääriäinen, Mailis Linnola, and Anu Penttinen. The competition is organized by Koti ja Keittiö magazine.
