Samu-Jussi Koski is an awarded Finnish fashion designer, whose career highlights include working as the Creative Director of Marimekko and founding of his own company, Samuji. Samu-Jussi fell in love with fashion at a young age, and throughout the years has come to appreciate it from a more sustainable, lasting perspective. His interests lie in creating beautiful, functional items that stand the test of time through both their design and quality. Samu-Jussi finds inexhaustible inspiration in discovery, and his boundless curiosity for new things empowers him to explore new avenues fearlessly.
Traceable natural materials
The weft and warp yarn are spun in the EU area from certified, responsible South American, fine-fibre and soft wool fibre. The wool is mulesing-free: we only work with responsible and certified spinning mills which adhere to our code of conduct. The yarns have been dyed according to the REACH regulations, and they meet the requirements of the OEKO-TEX certificate.
Own transparent production
Our own production in Lapua, Finland, enables us to combine the best materials. We want to be responsible for the production of our products ourselves, starting from the yarn all the way to the finished product. This is why the most significant part of the production is done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland.
The product design, material purchases, loom programming and warping as well as the pre-work stages, weaving and fabric inspection are done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland. If necessary, the sewing is done in our subsidiary’s own sewing department in Kaunas, Lithuania, or in our own sewing department in Lapua. The product finishing is done in our finishing plant in Lapua, Finland.
Care instructions
Only wash if textile is very dirty, otherwise take textile outdoors in fresh air for a while. Hand wash at max. 30°C or dry clean. If using powder detergent, dissolve it in plenty of water. Immerse the blanket in the water and wash immediately. Squeeze gently. Do not scrub, stretch or wring out. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out most of the water. Press the blanket between towels until half-dry and leave it to dry in an airy space. Do not tumble dry. Iron with a damp cloth, max. 150°C.
