Wool
Wool is a true natural material, one of its best qualities being heat insulation. We have made massive investments to be able to make products from local Finnish wool, as well.
Environment
Besides Finnish sheep wool, we also buy wool fibres and partly ready-made yarn from explicitly certified suppliers who follow our Code of Conduct. The quality of wool varies depending on the breeds and their living conditions. For best result the fibres of our wool yarns come from all around the world: the Nordic countries, New Zealand, Australia, South America and South Africa.
Our focus is on wool fibres that come from countries that invest in animal welfare. We do not accept animal cruelty and only buy certified mulesing-free wool. Our wool yarns are mainly spun in the EU area. Some of our blankets contain mohair, which is a fine quality wool obtained from the Angora goat. The shimmering mohair is a silky soft and warm natural material. The mohair yarn we use contains miniscule traces of nylon.
We collect the Finnish sheep wool from local farms ourselves, in approximately 300-kilometre radius around Lapua. We have built a continuously operating wool product finishing mill in Lapua, with a wool spinning mill under construction, as well. Together with ProAgria, we have created a set of criteria for healthy wool, which promotes responsible wool production as well as animal welfare in Finland in particular.

Qualities
If we didn’t have wool naturally, we’d have to invent it– its properties are that superior. Wool keeps you warm in the winter cold and feels nice and cool in the summer heat. Authentic wool stays fluffy and does not get dusty, due to wool regulating humidity in such a way that inhibits the growth of dust mites.
As an antistatic material, wool does not attract dust or lint. It repels dirt and stays clean for a long time. Wool textiles do not require washing with water, a good airing out is often enough to refresh them. Although wool is very long-lasting, it is also 100 % biodegradable
