TRACEABLE MATERIALS

Our main raw materials, such as linen and wool, are pure natural materials. We use 100 percent European linen, certified by Masters of Linen. We utilise local Finnish sheep wool and collect it from farms ourselves. In addition, we purchase wool fibre and yarns from expressly certified suppliers.

Other natural materials we use include bio-organic cotton and Tencel, which is a lyocell fibre made from pulp. We have begun to replace some of the cotton in our production with Tencel, as it is a more environmentally friendly alternative. We prefer working with European spinning and dyeing mills which we know and have visited.

In love with linen

Flax is one of the oldest and cleanest fibres in the world. The linen yarn we use is spun inside the EU area by Masters of Linen spinners. These spinners only use flax grown by rainwater in France, Netherlands, and Belgium, which requires no irrigation or much fertilising.
As a Masters of Linen weaver, Lapuan Kankurit is part of the traceable European chain.
