Tencel
We have increasingly replaced cotton with the cellulose-based regenerated fibre Tencel due to environmental reasons, but also for its absorbency and softness.
ENVIRONMENT
Tencel® is a registered trademark for the lyocell fibre manufactured by the Austrian company Lenzing, with 100 % of Tencel originating from the EU area. Tencel is also spun into yarn in Europe.
The manufacturing process of Tencel is environmentally responsible and an entirely closed loop process. All the chemicals used can also be reused. Lenzing’s patented procution process conserves both water and the environment compared to, for example, cotton, the production of which requires a lot of water and land.
The cellulose used in Tencel is FSC certified, which guarantees that the forest industry involved in the production is responsible. Tencel is an entirely biodegradable and compostable material.
QUALITIES
Light and soft Tencel pampers the skin and is also antibacterial, making it hygienic to use.
Because our passion is to develop the best textiles in the world, we are constantly searching and developing new techniques and innovations – this applies to Tencel, as well.
Lapuan Kankurit has developed a technical, soft and absorbent linen-Tencel-cotton textile, which elevates the pleasure of bathing to a whole new level. The quality and absorbency of the linen-Tencel-cotton fabric are superior, especially in bath products. Due to how light-weight the fabric is, products made from this blend are easy to take with you while traveling.
