Anu Leinonen
Bath textile designer Anu Leinonen has given washed linen an aesthetically relaxed and soft shape. Her personal style is based on clarity and natural materials. Anu graduated from the Lahti Institute of design and then began a long career with Finnish clothing brands. She further honed her professional skills in Paris at the Centre de formation des Modélistes and designed collections for a French clothing company for ten years. She has also created her own collection which was shown at the Paris trade show.
Upon returning to Finland, she decided, she wanted to do something different. "I went swimming and really wanted to have a light-weight towel to throw on", Anu says. Such a towel did not exist, until she was introduced to Lapuan Kankurit and began designing bath textiles for them. So started over 10 year long co-operation with Lapuan Kankurit. KASTE design was awarded by MUOTO 2012 award and TERVA by Toimittajien tusina 2014 (Editors choice) -award.
