The world is more global than ever. Items mass-produced by massive, foreign megacorporations are only a click of a mouse or a tap of a finger away from our front doors. For a small business, this poses a quandary: how to keep up when giants are thundering past?
You may have noticed the words we’ve adopted as our slogan: “Weavers from Finland”. Simple as that phrase might appear, there lies a truly grand story behind those few words.
It is rather extraordinary to be a Finnish company whose products are actually made in Finland. Equally rare is to be a small operator that owns its own production; in our case, this is the weaving mill itself, where every weave is the work of our own.
Our story is not created on the back of a mass production line. Our story cannot be replicated. Our story is one of values we live and work by. Not just hollow words repeated to appear virtuous, but actual acts we have worked tremendously toward. All this we do transparently and traceably, so that you need never doubt a single word we say.
Local businesses and artisans uphold that rich and diverse weave which makes Europe one of a kind. This is why it is vital that small-scale operators do not vanish in the shadow of global competition.
Small businesses carry with them the kind of know-how that cannot be easily replaced. Traditional handicraft skills, local specialties and knowledge passed down through generations have earned their place of respect. Each small operator is part of the European cultural heritage and identity. When you choose their product, you also choose a story—one that speaks of the place, its history, and the people behind it.
Thank you for choosing this one small weaving mill born from this one small country. The story we weave here is a grand one.
