The KUUTAMO blanket is designed by Saara Obele. KUUTAMO draws its inspiration from hot, almost tropical late-summer nights, when the forest foliage filters the pale glow of the moon.
Saara Obele began collaborating with Lapuan Kankurit while studying in the PatternLab program at Aalto University in 2022. Her organic and distinctive style was an immediate perfect match for the Lapuan Kankurit brand. The Kuutamo pattern highlights elements characteristic of her work: a bold and expressive graphic style combined with rich, vibrant colours.
Luxuriously soft, the KUUTAMO blanket is well suited for year-round use, as it is made from organic cotton and soft merino wool. It works beautifully as a throw for relaxing at home or as a blanket for a summer picnic. The KUUTAMO throw is also perfect to wrap yourself in on crisp autumn days.
