Description
Inspired by the zero-waste philosophy, we continuously strive to make more efficient use of raw materials in our production. For years, we have woven our products to their final dimensions in order to minimize material waste. However, some surplus fabric is still generated during the cutting and sewing process. Linen travels a long way from European flax growers to our weaving mill in Finland, where it is carefully and skillfully woven into high-quality fabrics. We deeply value the work invested in this raw material and are not willing to let it go to waste. The KIVI soap scrub mitt is sewn from surplus linen terry fabric.
Slip a bar of soap inside the KIVI soap scrub mitt and cleanse your skin with this linen terry wash mitt. Linen terry bath textiles gently care for the skin, as the natural coarseness of linen terry stimulates surface blood circulation. Linen terry mitts can also be used for dry brushing. Linen terry is exceptionally absorbent, though please note that it requires a few washes before its full absorbency develops. A linen terry product is long-lasting and only improves with use.
The soap scrub mitt makes a lovely little gift when paired with a beautifully scented soap. You can also combine it with a beautiful linen towel for a complete gift set.
Traceable natural materials
The warp yarns are made of 100 % linen and certified organic cotton, with the weft yarns being certified organic cotton. Because we want our products to have long lifecycles, we pay special attention to the quality and production of our flax fibre: the Masters of Linen–certified warp and weft yarn we use is made of 100 % traceable European long staple flax. The yarns have been spun and dyed in the EU area according to the REACH regulations.
Own transparent production
Our own production in Lapua, Finland, enables us to utilise state-of-the-art technology and to combine the best materials together, of which this textile is a rugged example. We want to be responsible for the production of our products ourselves, starting from the yarn all the way to the finished product. This is why the most significant part of the production is done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland.
The product design, material purchases, loom programming and warping as well as the pre-work stages, weaving and fabric inspection are done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland. The sewing is done in our subsidiary’s own sewing department in Kaunas, Lithuania, or in our own sewing department in Lapua. The product finishing is done in our finishing plant in Lapua, Finland.
