The KOIVU (“birch”) pattern is a classic designed by Marja Rautiainen. Birch trees, the most common deciduous trees in Finland, are a significant part of our country’s nature and culture. Birch holds a special place in Finnish bathing and sauna traditions: it is the preferred wood for heating saunas, and sauna whisks are most often made from silver birch. Bath and sauna products woven from nature’s own materials celebrate the role of our national tree in everyday life.
