Aoi Yoshizawa creates graphic and expressive surface designs for different textile materials. Her works explore shapes, textures and colours in her daily surroundings. In Helsinki, she gets inspired through her everyday experiences in both woods and the city as well as the stories told by people. Aoi also appreciates textile traditions and reinterprets them for modern home interiors, as the AINO blanket was inspired by the pattern and textures of the Finnish traditional ryijy rugs.
The weft and warp yarn are spun in the EU area from certified, responsible South American, fine-fibre and soft wool fibre. The wool is mulesing-free: we only work with responsible and certified spinning mills which adhere to our code of conduct. The yarns have been dyed according to the REACH regulations, and they meet the requirements of the OEKO-TEX certificate.
Our own production in Lapua, Finland, enables us to combine the best materials. We want to be responsible for the production of our products ourselves, starting from the yarn all the way to the finished product. This is why the most significant part of the production is done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland.
The product design, material purchases, loom programming and warping as well as the pre-work stages, weaving and fabric inspection are done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland. If necessary, the sewing is done in our subsidiary’s own sewing department in Kaunas, Lithuania, or in our own sewing department in Lapua. The product finishing is done in our finishing plant in Lapua, Finland.
Only wash if textile is very dirty, otherwise take textile outdoors in fresh air for a while. Hand wash at max. 30°C or dry clean. If using powder detergent, dissolve it in plenty of water. Immerse the blanket in the water and wash immediately. Squeeze gently. Do not scrub, stretch or wring out. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out most of the water. Press the blanket between towels until half-dry and leave it to dry in an airy space. Do not tumble dry. Iron with a damp cloth, max. 150°C.
