Description
The super popular MAIJA dishcloth/towel is made from washed linen–Tencel blend. Lightweight and quick-drying, this dishcloth is a practical, beautiful, and environmentally friendly choice. In the material developed by Lapuan Kankurit, highly absorbent linen is combined with Tencel. Tencel is a European innovation made from wood pulp using environmentally responsible production methods.
The absorbency of MAIJA dishcloths is activated during the production process through a washing treatment, meaning they are ready for use right away. Linen–Tencel products are extremely absorbent and dry quickly, making them hygienic in everyday use. Thanks to their fast-drying properties, the dishcloth stays fresh for a long time.
MAIJA products are versatile textiles. The MAIJA dishcloth also works perfectly as a facial cloth or even as a glasses cleaning cloth. It makes a lovely small gift for anyone.
This product features a hanging loop in the corner.
Traceable natural materials
Made of comfortable and breathable natural fibres: flax, Tencel and cotton. The warp is made of Tencel Lyocell and cotton fibre and the weft is made of linen yarn. Our linen, grown with the power of rainwater in Central Europe, is 100 % traceable and Masters of Linen–certified. Tencel is a European invention, a responsibly produced wood pulp fibre. Its production is FSC–certified which guarantees that the wood used as raw material in the production is responsibly sourced.
The yarns have been spun and dyed in the EU area according to the REACH regulations.
Own transparent production
Our own production in Lapua, Finland, enables us to develop new textile innovations and to combine the best materials together, of which this textile is a soft example. We want to be responsible for the production of our products ourselves, starting from the yarn all the way to the finished product. This is why the most significant part of the production is done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland.
The product design, material purchases, loom programming and warping as well as the pre-work stages, weaving and fabric inspection are done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland. The sewing is done in our subsidiary’s own sewing department in Kaunas, Lithuania, or in our own sewing department in Lapua. The product finishing is done in our finishing plant in Lapua, Finland.
