Description
The TULPPAANI pattern was designed for Lapuan Kankurit in 2019 by Helmi Liikanen. The pattern she created was part of her studies at Aalto University.
TULPPAANI is a playful and more experimental combination of different weaves and warp densities. It was born out of the joy of playing with structures and materials. Helmi is also meticulous about materials:
“For me, it is important to create designs that not only look good but also feel good. Touch is one of our most powerful senses — physical connection also plays an important role in design.”
The cushion cover features a zipper. The product is delivered without an inner cushion.
Traceable natural materials
The blend of linen and merino wool makes for a durable fabric. The weft yarn is European Masters of Linen–certified linen yarn, while the warp yarn is spun in the EU area from South American, fine-fibre and soft merino wool. The wool is mulesing-free: we only work with responsible and certified spinning mills which adhere to our code of conduct. The yarns have been spun and dyed according to the REACH regulations, and they meet the requirements of the OEKO-TEX certificate.
Own transparent production
Our own production in Lapua, Finland, enables us to develop new textile innovations and to combine the best materials together. We want to be responsible for the production of our products ourselves, starting from the yarn all the way to the finished product. This is why the most significant part of the production is done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland.
The product design, material purchases, loom programming and warping as well as the pre-work stages, weaving and fabric inspection are done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland. If necessary, the sewing is done in our subsidiary’s own sewing department in Kaunas, Lithuania, or in our own sewing department in Lapua. The product finishing is done in our finishing plant in Lapua, Finland.
Care instructions
Only wash if textile is very dirty, otherwise take textile outdoors in fresh air for a while. Hand wash at max. 30°C or dry clean. If using powder detergent, dissolve it in plenty of water. Immerse the blanket in the water and wash immediately. Squeeze gently. Do not scrub, stretch or wring out. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out most of the water. Press the blanket between towels until half-dry and leave it to dry in an airy space. Do not tumble dry. Iron with a damp cloth, max. 150°C.
