Description
The classically beautiful appearance and soft touch of the HALLA blanket make it the perfect companion for curling up in the corner of the sofa as the evening grows dark outside the window.
HALLA is not only wonderfully lightweight, but also delightfully warm in a way that only genuine wool can be. What makes it even more special is the Finnsheep’s wool, sourced exclusively from carefully certified suppliers committed to ensuring the wellbeing of their sheep.
The delicate, colourful stripes woven into the surface of the blanket add a fresh nuance to the overall look — like rays of sunlight shimmering on a frosty winter morning.
Please note that the HALLA blanket is 200 cm long, allowing you to wrap yourself completely while relaxing on the sofa. It even covers your toes!
The fringed HALLA blanket is made from 100% wool and includes Finnsheep wool! The Finnsheep wool used in each blanket is collected by us from local farms within approximately 400 km of Lapua. We have invested over three million euros in a continuous finishing facility for wool textiles in Lapua, enabling us to bring back lost industrial expertise in wool processing to Finland. Today, our skilled weavers and finishers craft these beautiful wool textiles right in the heart of Ostrobothnia, Finland.
Finnsheep wool is not only versatile but also one of the softest wool varieties in the Nordic region. Products containing local Finnsheep wool are an ethical choice like no other: by choosing them, you support Finnish production, traditional craftsmanship, and nature itself.
Traceable natural materials
100 % wool textile with the weft yarn of our own. The yarn is spun from the wool fibres of Finnsheep and Finnsheep crossbreeds, which we have obtained from the local farms in Finland, as well as from certified Wool Integrity NZ fibre. The wool’s rich yellow colour comes from coffee – it is dyed with Paulig’s coffee production surplus in Lappajärvi, Finland. The warp yarn is spun in the EU area from certified, responsible South American, fine-fibre and soft wool fibre. All yarns are spun in the EU area and are mulesing-free wool.
Own transparent production
Preserving and developing Finnish textile tradition is important to us, which is why we started collecting local wool from Finnish sheep farms for industrial use. A key motivation for the project was that a large portion of the wool had previously gone to waste. We also rebuilt the production chain that had disappeared from Finland. Now we control the entire wool production process and engage in unique product development while passing on our expertise to future generations.
The product design, material purchases, loom programming and warping as well as the pre-work stages, weaving, fringing and fabric inspection are done in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland. If necessary, the sewing is done in our subsidiary’s own sewing department in Kaunas, Lithuania, or in our own sewing department in Lapua. Finishing – including washing, milling, drying and raising – is done in our finishing plant in Lapua, Finland.
