Description

Nothing warms you on cool days quite like a pocket shawl woven from genuine wool. You can drape the pocket shawl over your shoulders and slip your hands into its pockets when you need to step outside for a moment. It also provides wonderful warmth in a chilly office.

The pocket shawl is an ideal product for yourself or as a gift. It is perfect for use at the office, on the terrace, or on the sofa at home. It also makes a stylish and warm garment for more formal occasions. The product is suitable for both men and women.

Over 95% of our products are woven in Lapua, Finland. However, our collection also includes a few items manufactured elsewhere, such as this UNI pocket shawl. This pocket shawl is produced at our subsidiary and partly owned weaving mill in Kaunas, Lithuania. Alternatively, we also offer the ARVO and MARIA pocket shawls, which are woven in Finland and made using Finnish and Scandinavian wool.

Traceable natural materials

The textile is made of 100 % wool. The warp and weft yarns have been spun from New Zealand wool fibre in the EU area according to the REACH regulations, and they meet the requirements of the OEKO-TEX certificate. All the yarns are made of mulesing-free wool.

Own transparent production

Over 95% of our products are woven in Lapua, Finland. However, our collection also includes a few items manufactured elsewhere, such as this UNI pocket shawl. This pocket shawl is produced at our subsidiary and partly owned weaving mill in Kaunas, Lithuania.

The textile is designed in Finland. The warping as well as the pre-work stages, weaving and fabric inspection as well as the wadding, drying and tuft finishing are done in our co-owned weaving mill in Kaunas. If necessary, the sewing is done in our subsidiary’s own sewing department in Kaunas. The Lithuanian companies share the same responsibility principles as our Lapua operation.

Care instructions

Only wash if textile is very dirty, otherwise take textile outdoors in fresh air for a while. Hand wash at max. 30°C or dry clean. If using powder detergent, dissolve it in plenty of water. Immerse the blanket in the water and wash immediately. Squeeze gently. Do not scrub, stretch or wring out. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out most of the water. Press the blanket between towels until half-dry and leave it to dry in an airy space. Do not tumble dry. Iron with a damp cloth, max. 150°C.

Sustainable production

Developing the best textiles in the world is our passion. The world is changing, and Lapuan Kankurit has the courage to develop entirely new products and invest in our own production.

Our top designs are woven in Lapua, in the middle of the Ostrobothnian fields. Our own mill, the young, open-minded professionals, and the experienced older craftsmen who work there allow us to make our products a little better every day.

We use only natural raw materials. We know where our materials come from, and we also know all the working stages from thread to finished product. This produces a result we can be proud of.

Wool

Wool is a true natural material, one of its best qualities being heat insulation. Wool keeps you warm in the winter cold and feels nice and cool in the summer heat.

We have made massive investments to be able to make products from local Finnish wool, as well. Besides Finnish sheep wool, we also buy wool fibres and partly ready-made yarn from explicitly certified suppliers.
