Heini's beloved RUUT designs parallel her ceramic works with the same hexagon forms she uses which are also found in the ceramic works throughout the Arabianranta courtyard.

A whole life is woven into RUUT's patterns.  The images are a continuation through the years as her children grew. "I wanted RUUT to be cozy like a patchwork blanket, just like life is. I drew themes that are related to flowers and growth, to reflect the shared period of life between mother and daughter. I see the advancement of an important person similarly to a flower in bloom - and of course there are always the hidden parts that I can't ever truly know.

The RUUT pattern was chosen as Avotakka Interior Magazine’s ”Textile of the Year 2015”.

The multiuse RUUT is suitable as a blanket as well as a tablecloth. Ruut products are woven with a jacquard technique. They are made of washed linen-cotton. The magnificent RUUT pattern was designed by Finnish designer Heini Riitahuhta. Washed linen-cotton is easy to care for as it does not require mangling. Light ironing is enough. The material of the products is Masters of Linen quality flax and bio-organic cotton. Check out also RUUT's partner AAMOS.

This product is made out of linen and bio-organic cotton. Flax is grown in Normandy, Europa and it is traceable 100% european Masters of Linen long staple linen yarn. All yarns are spun as well as dyed in Europe according to REACH regulations and fulfil the ÖKO-TEX certificate requirements.

Our strategy is to be responsible for the whole production from yarn to readymade products. Main part of our whole production is made in our own weaving mill in Lapua.

Product development, material purchases, programming of looms and design as well as warping, weaving, finishing and fabric inspection is done in Lapua in our own weaving mill. Sewing is mainly done in our own subsidiary sewing company in Lithuania or our own weaving mill in Lapua. Accessories come from Europe, mainly from Finland. Country of origin is Finland.

Care instructions

Aivan ihana kuosi ja materiaali. Käytän keittiön pöydällä. Tämän jälkeen en ikinä hanki tönkköä liinaa, sillä tämä on ihanan rento ja huoleton materiaali.
