Weavers from Finland

We weave natural raw materials, linen and wool. We weave a good life, responsibly, respecting the environment. Our roots go all the way back to 1917.
We weave Nordic design, inspired by our pure nature. To balance out the chilling climate of the north, we weave heaps of warmth and softness into our textiles.

Dora Jung 100 Ruusua table textiles -20%

Dora Jung’s best-known and most beloved damask tablecloth, 100 RUUSUA, is a highly esteemed design classic that is passed down from generation to generation. Available in linen, white and rose.

100 RUUSUA is a beautifully lustrous festive tablecloth, with a rich rose pattern that Dora Jung brought to life with a uniquely three-dimensional quality through her weaving techniques. The tablecloth is a popular gift for mothers, anniversaries, graduates, and newlyweds.

100 RUUSUA was originally created as a commissioned piece for Stockmann department store’s 100th anniversary in 1962. Dora Jung was, in heart and spirit, a true artisan for whom working with textiles was a lifelong passion. She was inspired by the idea of bringing more beauty into the everyday lives of ordinary Finnish homes. At the Tampella factory, tablecloths, napkins, and placemats based on her designs were woven to a near-handcrafted quality and signed by the artist herself, until the factory closed in 1980.

Now, more than forty years later, Dora Jung’s exquisite linen textiles are being brought back to life at the Lapuan Kankurit weaving mill.

The offer is valid at Lapua Outlet, Helsinki Store, Tampere shop-in-shop, as well as in our online store throughout May 2025.

Welcome to our weaving mill in Lapua, Finland!

The weaving mill is our heart.
Our top designs are woven in Lapua, in the middle of the Ostrobothnian fields. Our own mill, the young, open-minded professionals, and the experienced older craftsmen who work there allow us to make our products a little better every day.

We use only natural raw materials. We know where our materials come from, and we also know all the working stages from thread to finished product. This produces a result we can be proud of.

A table setting is the simple symbol of love in action. After all, the reason why we prepare the table and gather around it is to be with those we care about.

In love with linen

Flax is one of the oldest and cleanest fibres in the world. The linen yarn we use is spun mainly inside the EU area by Masters of Linen spinners. These spinners only use flax grown by rainwater in France, Netherlands, and Belgium, which requires no irrigation or much fertilising.
As a Masters of Linen weaver, Lapuan Kankurit is part of the traceable European chain.
